Academic Support and Tutoring
One-to-one tutoring and academic support services are provided daily in after school programs from staff and volunteers from UW Madison, Edgewood College, MATC and the community. Youth in the middle and high school programs identify specific academic and personal goals for the year and check in on a regular basis to monitor progress and identify needs. Strong connections with MMSD support the academic core of after school programs.
Academic, social, cultural, recreational and wellness programs for children ages 7-18. Programs are offered Monday through Friday for elementary, middle and high school age youth. Programs includes quarterly field trips, artist residencies, fitness, individual academic support, healthy snacks and youth leadership.
An eight week summer camp with a focus on outdoor recreation, creativity, wellness, and team-building. Campers attend community outings and field trips and partnerships with community partners such as Goodman Pool, YMCA East, Brittingham Boats, Wheels for Winners, REAP, Madison Public Library and Madison Audubon Society enhance the program.
The College and Career Advancement Mentorship Program (CAMP) supports high school students to achieve personal and academic success in school and beyond. Students set goals and explore college and career paths as well as attend workshops to receive individual support with applications and practical skills.
A six week literacy and math focused program designed to meet the academic needs of Bayview children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Madison Metropolitan School District teachers from Franklin and Randall Elementary Schools develop the curriculum and provide instruction.
Healthy Snacks and Cooking Club
An after school club that teaches participants basic cooking, healthy lifestyle and nutrition skills with a focus on fresh and local produce. Students plan, prepare, and serve recipes like homemade apple sauce, eggplant pizzas, and butternut squash ravioli.
Giving Garden Youth Employment
Summer employment program for youth ages 13-18 to learn job readiness skills while working in an organic garden that provides fresh produce to Bayview families.
An after school club for middle and high school students that empowers youth to participate in program design and planning, as well as community service activities.
