Youth Programs:

After School Program:

Our After-School Program serves over 75 youth (ages 7-18) from immigrant and refugee families each year. Our program is offered throughout the school year, free of charge and is focused on providing high-quality academic support, visual and performing arts activities, and access to healthy snacks and wellness activities. Our youth are from over 8 countries, with most speaking English as a Second Language and qualifying for free school lunch. Our dedicated staff collaborate with Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) teachers to support youth in challenging the achievement gap. Our program includes:

Homework Tutoring: Individualized support from staff and university students

Education Clubs: Promotion of literacy, math, computer, & science skills for elementary and ELL middle school youth.

Arts Activities: Painting, ceramics, dance, music & drama activities focused on creative self-expression and skill development.

  • Madison Arts Commission, American Girl, and the Johnson A. Johnson award make it possible for us to partner with local professional teaching artists and MidWest Clay Project.
  • Artwork will be on display at the Madison Children’s Museum in May 2013!
