A PROUD TRADITION OF 23 YEARS Bayview Foundation will host its popular festival celebrating culture and global community at its 23rd Annual Triangle Ethnic Fest on Sunday, August 19, 2007 in one of the most historically documented neighborhoods in Wisconsin: the Triangle of Regent, Washington and Park Street in Madison. Hours will be 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Hailed as “a unifying force in drawing the elderly, individuals with disabilities and family residents of the area together,” 2007 promises to be a banner year for the Triangle Ethnic Fest. From the diverse entertainers, assorted arts and crafts makers/exhibits, and the unique ethnic food offerings of the vendors to the wide variety of activities for children, this festival features something for everyone, for all ages and all interests. Continuous cultural outdoor entertainment will be provided on stage and include the PAMANA Dance Troupe, Brisas del Peru, Folklore Village International Dancers, Hmong Keng Players, Shining Star Hmong Dance Troupe, Eastern Wave, Sadira & the Riad Dance Company, Atimevu Drum and Dance, Natyarpana Indian School of Dance, Nueva Cancion, Brisas del Peru, Boliviamanta, Dando Mambo Dance Company, Greenbush Hebrew Ensemble, Mesoghios Greek Dance Troupe, Italian Folk Dancers of Madison, Heather Highland Dancers, MadCity Tango, Performance Group and Christina Bokas-Native American Hoop Dance. Indoor entertainment will include an all-day children’s art exhibit, traditional Italian bakery, Greenbush photo gallery and more. Family entertainment will continue with endless children games and prizes (with a special emphasis on fitness this year), including a tetherball tournament and tug-of-war, cotton candy, snowcones, critters and creepy crawlers from Vilas Zoo, a farmer’s market, face painting, a dunk tank and and more! Food booths will be plentiful, with everything being served from chicken and fish to southern specialties, from Vietnamese and Cambodian food to Jamaican cuisine, from Italian baked goods to ice cream treats and more! Festival goers will also have the opportunity to participate in a Treasure Sale to win prizes ranging from household items to unique collectibles! A festival program will be available at the information booths with a complete schedule of activities and entertainment times. There is no admission fee to attend the Annual Triangle Ethnic Fest, although donations are appreciated. Hours of the festival are Sunday, August 19, 2007, 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on the corner of Park & Regent on Braxton.
