FEST GROUNDS :

11:30 All Around the World Youth Dancers:  This dance group is part of the Bayview's Summer Program. They will dance Hmong Dances and encourage all children to join in the dance.

11:45 Viv Neaus Hmong Dancers: Viv Neaus means Sisters in the Hmong Language. They started three years ago with Freedom, Inc. and have danced in many special events in the Madison area, including at the Chazen Museum of Art, Hmong New Years, and MATC. All their costumes are handmade by their mothers and other volunteers.

12:00 Italian Folk Dancers of Madison: Performing folk dances from Southern Italy, this group has performed at Festa Italia, Triangle Ethnic Fest, Columbian Dinner and other ethnic events. 12:20 Sadira & the Riad Dance Company: Since 1984, Sadira and the Riad Dance company have been performing authentic traditional and contemporary Middle Eastern dance. They are the only women’s dance company to perform in the Cultural Village of Arab World Fest in Milwaukee. They perform annually at the International Festival and Willy St. Fair. 12:40 Music Makers - Violin Group: This group is made up of children from the Bayview Community Center, Goodman Community Center and Centro Hispano. They will perform a mix of unusual styles of classical, folk, blues and hip-hop.

1:00 608-BB04: This is a group consisting of many different breakdancing crews from Madison coming together to show the true essence of Hip-Hop. They have performed at the Brat Fest and Taste of Madison.

1:20 Judy McNeal (Cooper): Judy has been singing with bands and solo since age 15. She has won many different competitions throughout the years. She also grew up in the Bayview Community along with a number of family and friends.

1:30 Folklore Village International Dancers: This group performs folk dances from Northern and Eastern Europe, wearing costumes representative of the countries who's dances they perform. They will invite audience participation. They are a volunteer performing group that has been together since the 70's with a desire to share folk dances and tell people about Folklore Village.

1:50 Salaam Shalom (Arabic and Jewish): Fun, high-energy songs and dances from the Middle East – both Jewish and Arabic. They have performed at Atwood Summerfest, Triangle Ethnic Fest, Great River Festival and other ethnic events throughout the Madison area.

2:30 Ballet Folklorico Mexico Family Avila: Today you will witness prehistoric dances from the Aztec or Mexica Nation, Mexican Folk Dance, Jalisco and Nuevo Leon “Norte.” The colorful prehistoric costumes were designed and made by dancer Carlos Avila, his family and friends. Carlos has performed with the Ballet Folklorico for over 30 years and is presently teaching new dances at the Neighborhood Center on Mills Street.

2:50 Gaelic Fusion Dance Company: This group was founded in 2004 and has performed at the UW Memorial Union and Madison International Day. Today they will be performing Scottish highland dances.

3:10 Announcements: Dan Nerad introduces new emcee, Jim Woodward, President and CEO of Meriter Health Services.

3:20 MadCity Tango Performance Group: MCT will perform a few choreographed pieces as well as freestyle numbers. MCT has performed at numerous private and public events throughout the Madison area. For more information please http://madcitytango.com

3:40 Call For Peace/Art & Maral Shegonee: Art and Maral, along with Christine Bokas, a Native American Hoop Dancer, will celebrate the 25 years of the Triangle Ethnic Fest with a Community Circle Dance. Please join in the dance.

4:00 Christina Bokas Native American Hoop Dancer: Christina is a Delaware Nanticoke Indian and has been hoop dancing for over five years. She is a recent graduate of the UW-Madison Law School. She has performed at Indian Summer in Milwaukee, the Overture Center International Day and numerous pow wows throughout Wisconsin.

4:20 Capoeira Angola Madison: Formed in 2002, Capoeira Angola Madison promotes a living folkloric tradition of music, dance and traditional martial arts from African descendents in Brazil.

4:40 Duo Acustico, Peruvian: Duo Acustico was formed in 2007 to promote the music of Peru in the greater Madison area and to explore the diverse musical talents of its members. They can be seen every Thursday night at 8:00 PM at the Restaurant Magnus.

5:00 Announcements: Jim Woodward introduces new Emcee, long time friend and advocate of the Bayview Community, Andy Heicht.

5:10 Meenakshi Ganesan & Kalanjali: This dance company will present the 3000 year old ancient Indian Classical Dance form called Bharatanatyam. It is one of the oldest, beautiful and purest classical dance forms of India. The dancers use facial expression, various types of hand gestures and body postures, graceful and rhythmic body and foot movements and melody to evoke Rasa (“emotion” or “sentiment”).

5:30 Goon Goo Peas: Goon Goo Peas is an interactive Caribbean Folk Group. They will be singing Caribbean Folk Music and music from the African diaspora, They also thrive on audience participation.

5:50 Mesoghios Greek Dance Troupe: This group will offer a medley of Greek folk dances from the Greek Isles, as well as Greek gypsy dances. Please visit http://www.madstage.com/Companies/mesoghios.html for more information.
