FEST GROUNDS : 11:30 Folklore Village International Dancers: This group performs folk dances from Scandinavia, Germany and Poland and will invite audience participation. They are a volunteer performing group that has been together over 30 years. Their next performance will be at the Dodge County Fair Grounds on September 24, 2006. 11:50 Hmong Keng Players: Made of bamboo, the Hmong Keng is an instrument used mainly for entertainment and funerals. This group will also dance. 12:10 Hmong Sunshine Dance Troupe: In their third year of performing, this group dances with a variety of props, including umbrellas, baskets (Kawj), fans, fabrics and flutes. These girls have come a long way to continue to represent the Hmong. 12:30 Sadira & the Riad Dance Company: Since 1984, Sadira and the Riad Dance company have been performing authentic traditional and contemporary Middle Eastern dance. They are the only women’s dance company to perform in the Cultural Village of Arab World Fest in Milwaukee. They perform annually at the International Festival and Willy St. Fair. The group uses colorful costumes in the dances that come from the Andean highlands and its coasts. The group's mission is to share the Peruvian and Andean culture through dances and music. They have performed for different events and festivals in the Madison community, including the 2005 Triangle Ethnic Fest and the UW Pyle Center, and they will be performing in the upcoming Mexican Festival at Warner Park in September 2006.. Created in 2005 by three Peruvian women, Brisas del Peru was thanked by the Peruvian Consulate in Chicago for performing Peruvian dances in Wisconsin. 2:30 Estudiantina Panamericana: Madison continues to be enriched with the integration of people from all over Latin America bringing along their music, culture and traditions--this group is a product of this cultural exposure. They will perform Latin American Folk music. They've played at many clubs in Southeast Wisconsin, a few festivals and the Monona Terrace. Guitarist and singer Randy Kisling and bassman Jeff Helmuth played together about three years before Jon French joined three years ago. Jon has played with the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Freddie & Albert King, Lonnie Brooks, Coco Taylor, and more. When Reagan was President, Sergei was invited to participate in an artist exchange between Russia and Alaska.
